Buying a New or Used Chevy in Union, NJ: How It Works

If you want to buy a new or used Chevrolet from me at Open Road Chevrolet in Union, start with the used inventory page. Pick one or two vehicles. Text me the stock numbers at 908-215-9784. I'll check them before you make the trip.

I'm Jorge Valdivia, a Chevrolet salesperson at Open Road Chevrolet in Union, New Jersey. This is my own site, not the dealership's.

Why I tell people to look at used first

Most people who reach me already have a rough idea. A truck. A three-row SUV. Something small for a commute into Newark. Used is often the faster way to see what's real.

Used inventory changes every week. A car you saw online on Monday might be sold by Thursday. That's why I don't want you driving in on a guess.

Here's the simple version:

  1. Open my used inventory page.
  2. Write down the stock number of anything that looks close.
  3. Text me those numbers.
  4. I check that each one is still here and tell you what I find.

If nothing on the used page fits, that's useful too. Then we look at new.

New or used: the questions that actually decide it

I don't think one is always better. It depends on what you need and what you're willing to trade off.

If this matters most to youWhere I'd start
Seeing a lot of options quicklyUsed, across makes and years
A specific trim or equipment listNew, or a used one I confirm unit by unit
Knowing how a vehicle was treatedUsed, with its history checked first
Not compromising on model yearNew

One thing I won't do is guess. Two vehicles with the same badge can be equipped differently. If a feature matters to you, tell me. I'll check the exact vehicle, not the trim name.

What to send me before you come in

A short text saves us both a lot of time. These are the things that help most:

  • Stock numbers. One or two is plenty.
  • Your must-haves. Two or three things you can't do without.
  • Your trade. Year, make, model and rough mileage, if you have one.
  • When you can come. So I can have the vehicle ready.

I won't quote numbers here on the site. Pricing and approvals depend on the exact vehicle and your situation. I'd rather go over real numbers with you directly than post something that changes tomorrow.

Coming from Elizabeth, Newark, Linden or nearby

A lot of the people I help aren't from Union itself. They come from Elizabeth, Linden, Hillside, Irvington and Newark. Plenty of them are already driving Route 22 for work.

If that's you, the drive is short. The wasted trip is the real cost. So text me first. I'll confirm the vehicle is here, and I'll send you directions from wherever you're starting.

A few questions people ask me

Do I have to know exactly what I want? No. Tell me what the car needs to do. I'll suggest a few stock numbers to compare.

Can you check a car I found somewhere else? Send me the details. I'll tell you honestly whether I have something close.

Is this the dealership's website? No. It's my personal site. I work at Open Road Chevrolet in Union, and this is how people reach me directly.

The easiest next step

Pick one vehicle from the used inventory page and text me its stock number at 908-215-9784. I'll tell you if it's still here and what it has. If you'd rather write it out, use my contact page.
