The real differences between a 2026 Silverado 1500 RST and a High Country are on each truck's window sticker. Two trucks with the same trim name can still be optioned differently. So the honest answer is to compare two specific stickers line by line. I'll do that with you.

I'm Jorge Valdivia, a Chevrolet salesperson at Open Road Chevrolet in Union, New Jersey. This is my own site.

I won't list engines, packages or features from memory here. Chevy changes details by model year. A wrong spec on a page doesn't help you. A sticker does.

What to line up on the two stickers

When you hold an RST sticker next to a High Country sticker, check these rows. Most of the gap between them shows up here.

Row to compareQuestion to ask
EngineWhich engine is on each truck, and is it standard or an option?
DrivetrainIs each one 2WD or 4WD?
Cab and bedSame cab and bed length, or different?
SeatsCloth, leather, heated, ventilated?
Driver assistWhich safety and camera features are listed?
TowingIs a tow package on the sticker?
PackagesWhat option packages were added at the factory?

If the engine, drivetrain or cab differ, you're not comparing trims anymore. You're comparing two different trucks. Match those first.

Decide what you actually use

Trim names get a lot of attention. Daily use matters more. Before you pick a side, answer three things:

  1. Do you tow, and how often?
  2. Who rides with you, and how far?
  3. Which two features would you refuse to give up?

Send me those answers. I'll tell you which sticker covers them. Sometimes neither trim is the answer.

Used Silverados on the lot right now

None of these is an RST or a High Country. But if you're open to used, they're worth a look before you settle on a new trim. Here's the equipment I can confirm on each.

StockTruckConfirmed equipment
IP69082022 Silverado 1500 ZR24WD, leather seats, heated seats, heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, remote start, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, blind spot monitor, forward collision warning, Wi-Fi hotspot
8243A2020 Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss4WD, heated steering wheel, keyless entry and ignition, blind spot monitor, rear view camera, tow hitch/tow package, Wi-Fi hotspot, cruise control
IP2505A2021 Silverado 1500 Custom4WD, remote start, tow hitch/tow package, Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, cruise control

How they line up against your list

If heated leather seats and adaptive cruise matter to you, the 2022 ZR2 is the one to check first.

If towing is the priority, the 2020 Trail Boss and the 2021 Custom both have a tow hitch/tow package listed.

If you want the simplest truck of the three, look at the 2021 Custom.

Mileage and history aren't on this page. Ask me and I'll pull them for the stock number you pick.

Coming from Elizabeth, Newark or Linden

Open Road Chevrolet is in Union, a short drive for most of Union County. If you come in on Route 22, text me first. I'll have the trucks you want parked side by side. That way you sit in both on the same visit.

Quick answers

Is the High Country above the RST?

Compare the actual stickers rather than the badge. That shows exactly what one has that the other doesn't.

Can you get me stickers for both?

Yes. Text me and I'll check what's available and send what I find.

Should I look at used instead?

Maybe. It depends on your must-haves. Sit in a used one and decide from there.

Here's the easiest next step. Text me at 908-215-9784 with the stock number IP6908, 8243A or IP2505A, plus your two must-have features. I'll tell you straight which one fits. You can also see the full list on my used inventory page.
